Timba Fest New York 2024

5 May @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

$50 – $60

Experience the best Cuban music at Timba Fest 2024!

Hitting the stage will be Lazarito Valdés y @bamboeloybien, Yordys Ex @maykelblanco, Amaray Ex @manolito_simonet, @djandy23, and @el_mas_bailable

Led by pianist extraordinaire Lázaro “Lazarito” Valdés, modern timba group Bamboleo continues to reach new heights with its blend of dance rhythms, jazz, funk and soul. The addition of lead singer Tania Pantoja has solidified their status as the hottest band in Havana.

Popular Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco orchestra is a salsa and timba group founded over 30 years ago out of Camaguey and Havana, Cuba. Manolito y su Trabuco’s front line has included some of the best singers of the era, including Rosendo “El Gallo” Díaz, Sixto “El Indio” Llorente, and Carlos Kalunga. Manolito’s 1990s recordings feature one of the most renowned synthesizer players, Osiris Martínez, and the prolific composer, singer Ricardo Amaray. El Trabuco is one of the largest timba bands, a “super-charangón,” as it is called, with violin, cello, two trumpets, two trombones, flute, and synthesizer, as well as the standard piano, bass, drums, congas and güiro.

The musical group Maykel Blanco has achieved a place of preference among the Cuban and international public thanks to the work of its director, great percussionist and arranger.  Maykel Blanco is a leading player in a new generation of Cuban salsa, jump-starting audiences with dance energy, fueled by driving rhythms, hypnotic keyboard riffs, dazzling horn riffs and memorable chorus hooks. Blanco’s musical ride caters for salsa and timba fans but with an inescapable catchiness and youthful attitude that can appeal to a wider audience of music fans including the reggaeton generation. His choruses aren’t just sung in the streets of Havana, but also in Peru and Colombia, among other parts of Latin America.
