Starry Night Tango – Second NYC Edition

6th November 2025 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Free

Starry Night Tango returns to New York City with its Second Edition, presenting two unique evenings that celebrate Argentine tango as both an art form and a living cultural tradition. Founded and directed by Argentine dancer and teacher Martín Almirón, the project offers an innovative format where tango maestros and students share the stage, creating a dialogue between education, performance, and community. Recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, tango is honored here not only as a dance, but as a powerful expression of diversity and human connection.

On November 6, Starry Night Tango will be featured at the prestigious Abrazo Tango Festival, hosted at the Argentine Consulate General, followed by a Milonga with Maestro Rounds at Tango La Nacional. On November 15, the Hungarian House of New York will host the full Gala Night, including showcase performances and the signature Milonga where all maestros dance together and with students from different schools. Open to both tango communities and general audiences, the event positions Argentine tango as a vital part of New York’s artistic landscape while fostering inclusion, cultural exchange, and intergenerational dialogue.
