WHO WE GOT THIS WEEK?
Courtney Maginnis is a comedian and actress based in Brooklyn, NY. She performs standup all over the country and has been a part of the Brooklyn Comedy Festival, NY Comedy Festival, Underground Comedy Festival, Red Clay Comedy Festival and more. Courtney has been featured in sketches for Comedy Central, College Humor, as well as starred in the short film, “The Comedian’s Wife” which was an Official Selection for the 2016 Big Apple Film Festival. She has been featured for a story on NPR’s Studio 360 as well as appeared on shows for Sirius XM. She is one of the stars of the popular web series NFL Fan Therapy, the co-host of the weekly podcast The Narcisistas as well as a co-host for one of Thrillist’s best underground comedy shows in NYC, “Let’s See What Else” every Wednesday night in the East Village.
Esther Chen is a stand-up comedian, actor and host from Taiwan. In addition to being seen on HBO, Hulu, Amazon, FX, Buzzfeed, HBO Max and MTV, she was nominated for the best-supporting actress at Planet Connections Festivities. She is also the dialect coach for Mr. Robot Seasons 2&3 and contributed to the translations on the show. Most recently, Esther was cast in the ABC Diversity Showcase, recurred in And Just Like That, and shot a promo for Jerry Seinfeld’s newest Netflix special “23 Hours to Kill.” She co-produced “Asians Strike Back: a Coronavirus Comedy + Science Show,” which got featured on New York Times, CBS and TimeOut. She is the creator of Weekly Takeout: an Asian American late night show on IG, the award-winning pilot Wide Open and Chinese podcast 好戲開場. She appears regularly at comedy clubs in NY and all over Taiwan.
Casey James Salengo taped a half hour special for Comedy Central that will air in the fall and he has been featured on Tru TV’s Comedy Knockout. He was also a 2016 New Face of Comedy at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. Casey’s podcast, The Good, The Dad, and The Ugly, is quickly shooting up the iTunes Comedy charts.
Lizzie Martinez is a Headline Contributor for The Onion, and has written for Funny or Die. She co-created and starred in the web series Throwback, which was named one of the 10 Best Comedy Web Series of the year by Paste Magazine. Festival experience includes HBO’s Women in Comedy Festival, Brooklyn Comedy Festival, SF Sketchfest, and New York City Sketch Festival. She currently co-produces Savage, a weekly show which was recently named one of the Best Alt-Comedy Shows in Brooklyn byVulture.
